Description

The international Summer School Climate Change, jointly organized by the Center for Earth System Research and Sustainability (CEN) at Universität Hamburg, the Max Planck Institute for Meteorology (MPI-M), and the German Climate Computing Center (DKRZ) invites applications from students and prospective scientists who have a strong interest in climate, Earth system, and sustainability research. The curriculum consists of a broad range of lectures by expert scientists, as well as excursions and lab work. During hands-on sessions, participants will run complex Earth-system models using local computation facilities and focus on data analysis and interpretation. The Climate Change program will be complemented by sessions on German culture and history—topics will be discussed and taught on field trips and during excursions. A language course and extracurricular activities, such as a day trip to Berlin, are also included into the Summer School. Join us for knowledge, credits, and fun!
